actually more like a musical. my school kids will be performing their spring program. It's such a tough thing to get 2 of these done every spring. and for some reason it is tougher in this building than the other. I am not even bothering to go home today. I went out and ran a few errands, then grabbed some dinner and headed to this school. We sing at 7:30.
It's been a real frustrating week with these kids. I had a few of them come to me yesterday and "rat" on each other. Seems some of them were planning on skipping out on the performance. Like this makes sense: work hard every wed. afternoon since January, only to skip out on the big payoff! There will be parents who won't bother coming in to see the performance either. They'll drop there kid off and come back for them later. That is so sad. It really had me boiling yesterday, so I had to step back and remind myself that I've done my job, and done everything that I can do. If it's not the masterpiece I want it to be, it's certainly not because of the things I've done. There are some things that are just out of my control, and I've got to accept that.

Hang in there Keltic! I know the kids probably don't show it but probably realize you care, even if their parents don't appear to. Good luck tonight!! What numbers are going to be sung tonight? Anything we know? anything from The Assassins?

yeah. that's a tough one for me too. It's pretty bad that a parent can't take 30 minutes to watch what their kid has been working on for the past 4 months

that is unreal - dropping the kids and leaving
what are they thinking? worse--what are the kids thinking?
i can remember how important it was to find my mom's face in the crowd. it meant everything.
Hope it went well Keltic.

We just had all of our daughter's concerts this week
Monday night for the 5th grader
Tuesday for the 6th and 7th choirs along with the bands too.
One great thing is our school had a string orchestra and they are pretty good. They even had a harpist.
And just love all the flat B's and D's from the clarinets and trumpets.

thanks for all the kind words. It went pretty well, although the kids didn't speak up as loud as they should have. I've only been preaching on that for 3 months. I had 2 kids that were to be onstage just not show up. And I had 3 managers (out of 4) not show up. So what that tells me is that I've been used by these guys to get them out of class all year, but when it's time to really commit, they cave in. I'll be lecturing them pretty good, next time I see them.
