to Cheese town!
Man, what a fricken concert! Having been a casual fan of To Jo for years I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to see him when he stopped by Green Bay for a concert.
So we get up there early so we can hit the casino...and of course, lose some money.
First off, I should state, that it's never really been about the music with this guy. It's the overall 'cheese' factor that I'm allured to. The guy gets away with it...and he gets away with it good. When I walked in, I wasn't sure if I had stumbled upon the biggest BINGO game evah or a Tom Jones show...then I realized they're really one in the same. Average age 47....96 percent female...my kinda place, no?
His band was straight butta...An 11 piece ensemble consisting of a drummer, guitariest, keyboard, bassist, 3 back up singers and 4 horns. So Tommy comes out, plays acouple songs I didn't know and then it happens...the hip thrusts....the screams...the flying panties...crazy-ass dance moves that had us rolling in the aisles...and of course, the ladies were eating it all up. This went in for an hour and 1/2 straight and for some odd reason, it never got old?
Some random notes:
-His final 3 songs were: What's new, Pussycat, It's Not Unusual and Kiss
-There were about 40 grammas all in a row waiving their panties the entire show.
-Some lady threw her panties at Tom. Tom picked them up, smelled them and said 'I think I know this woman!'. It was disgusting and hilara-fubby at the same time...
All in all, our group had the BESTEST time. Unfortunately the pics didn't turn out that great.
My view from the back:
