I'm not a speaker expert, but Creative is a good brand that has been around forever and a day. Well, maybe not that long, but they have been around for years.
Plus, I have never gotten a bad set of speakers from dell. Even the ones they include for free with PCs seem to be great.
So, basically, I have no issues with them, but like I said, I'm not a speaker expert.

I have Klipsch, and I love them. Got our first set (4 speakers, 1 sub-woofer) for my ex-husband several years ago, then upgraded him to a new set a couple years later. I have the old ones, but they still rock the apt. I think we paid $500 each time for them.

I use these bad boys. They're great for business trips and surprisingly when I'm in a hotel conference room that seats 40, they work very well. I love the full sound.
you can get them at a Bose store or Best Buy for $99.
