Grat idea about the visibility factor. I own a reflective belt that I wear when I run in any sort of limited visibility scenario. there are blets, vests and ankle straps you can buy. Its all a matter of personal choice.

Believe me, the reflective strips and little logos on our running gear are not enough. You need more. The more visible you are the better.

As an editorial comment, I firmly believe that you could be wearing reflective anything to incluide a flashing red beacon on your head and the last thing you will hear as you enter the ambulance: "I swear officer, I just didn't see him/her."

The most important thing that can be said about running in the dark (or any time)... always run as if they can't see you. Always be aware of your surroundings. Give people plenty of room to pass and be ready to jump off the road should a car come too close for comfort. The ultimate responsibility lies with you, regardless of how many flashy things you are wearing. You hold your safety in your own hands.
