Just got out of a meeting with the top brass. Topic of discussion: an email I wrote in response to El Presidente's email in which I took some responsibility for a recent fiasco involving one of my trainers, in which I also subtly blasted the conversion team for not giving me enough information to adequantely prepare him.

The conversion manager sarcastically and snottily said to me, "Wow, I had no idea you could be so eruditely intelligent."

I sarcastically and snootily replied, "Wow, I had no idea you were intelligent enough to know the word 'eruditely'."

Got bonus points with El Presidente for that one! Mr. Green

i don't pretend to know what eruditely means but by the sounds of it you dealt him a zinger.

in my opinion i'm thinking that anyone in management, or in charge of training, shouldn't even be in the business of name calling.

kind've childish and unprofessional if you ask me?

ps. points for your shot, "he started it" is always a perfectly good reason.

You misinterpreted. This was in a closed meeting with management and they insulted me and tried to set me up as the fall guy for their mistakes. I have never, or would ever, zing a trainee. Though they often provide me many reasons to do so.
