Bad weekend for LSU and Georgia Tech, good weekend for Purdue.
I was also pretty impressed with Louisiana Tech beating #17 Fresno State. Ryan Moats put up 233 yards rushing, giving him an average of 185 yards per game. The guy is apparently living up to the hype, as his only "off" games were against Miami and Tennessee, where he ran for 81 and 97 yards respectively. Pretty impressive I'd say, and the guy is a junior. It'll be interesting to see if he stays at Tech another year or goes for the draft.

I got to GT about 1:30 with my 13 year old grandniece to watch the festivities before the 3:30 kickoff. Watched the Miami band march into the stadium, both of us won a free Tech tee-shirt from Delta Airlines in a spin the wheel contest.
The game was incredibly hot until just after half time. Tech didn't play bad except the quarterback seemed confused as to which team to throw the ball to (3 interceptions, 8 of 25 completion), the defense doesn't understand basic tackling and the special teams likes to drop the ball on punt returns to see if they can pick it up before Miami does. Other than that the 27-3 score wasn't bad. And the score was not as close as it looks.
As far as Coach Chan Gailey, I think this may indeed be his last year. I can see a 3-8 season real easily assuming Tech beats either Duke or UConn. And UConn is looking pretty good in its games this year. But I'll be in the stadium, win or lose.
LSU really let me down. Now I have to look to Florida and Auburn to trip the Athens Menace.

I thought about you when they showed the Purdue score on the Tech marquee during the game. Congrats.

I can't believe Nugent missed a field goal like that. The dude is Mr. Clutch.

The announcers jinxed him. One was ready to annoint him a Heisman candidate. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
