At what point do you get tired of stuff you have been collecting/saving for years and decide to get rid of it? I have a whole bunch of comics, cards and some other stuff that I am sort of ready to sell off. We have so much stuff in the house that it just gets in the way and I could kind of use the money that i might get from selling it off.

Years ago, a friend of mine who ran a comic store told me, "Someday, you're going to reach a point where you go, "I just don't need any more of this stuff.""

At the time, I thought he was nuts - now I see he was right.

What I really hate is getting all this crap from my Mom and Gramma along with "Keep this, it'll be worth money someday." And they have done it to the boyz since they were little. Then I throw away a bunch of the crap and sure enough one of them asks the boyz about it. When the boyz say "Oh Mom threw that away" they are like Yup, there goes my inheritance! Neutral

I am really thinking about taking my stuff to card stores and comic book stores to see how much I could get for it. I don't want to throw it out but I don't know if I want to hang on to it for 50 years in the hopes it is worth something when I am on my deathbed.

I just got 3 boxes of baseball, football, hockey and movie cards from the mid-70s back from my parents house. some cards were selected before as worth something. I also have the full original star wars set. Cool I need to check out there value too.

That is awesome!

I used to work at Kenner and would just hang out in the conference room where they had the entire set displayed... very impressive!
