the job i had before this we'd get a $400 bonus at Christmas plus a company luncheon and then a dinner at the President's country club - now i'm just another faceless bureaucrat taking advantage of a liberal leave policy

No bonus and a potluck Holiday party. I guess the bonuses are that we get to leave early on the 24th, and the day of the potluck is pretty much a wash. We have so many other bennies from working in an academic institution though, so my "bonus" is amortized.
