I remember freaking out when I first saw The Amityville Horror because they had filmed it in Toms River, NJ and I knew tht house. My dad - Frightfest Central Manager - would go out of his way to drive past that house when they were filming. I had nightmares about that house. |
I was born down there, that house wasn't far from where my cousins lived
I remember seeing Herbie the Love Bug at the drive in, damn, I'm old....

I watched several Buzz Kulick-directed movies that I shouldn't have as a youth. They were all Friday Night Movies. Things like Cage Without a Key and Bad Ronald involving bad, bad teenagers.

I was about to say that i've had a thing for Karen Black for years, but then i realized i meant Karen Allen. |
The one whose head was shaved and she was all deranged hanging out under a bush?

That was a good one too. I can't believe they stopped producing it. |
Disney caved in to pressure because some groups felt the movie was racist. AFAIK, It is still available overseas. |
I have it, and had it "converted" to a US videotape. It is a crappy copy though. I need to take the original to someone who could do a better job.

Karen Allen: Marion in Raiders of the Lost Ark, or, the mom from The Sandlot.

I remember Bad Ronald, is that the one Jodie Foster was in? Or there was one like it where he was the neighbor kid or something??? I forget who the guy was. I think he started my attraction for "cute but psycho"

I think you're thinking of Margot Kidder who was in Superman. She wigged out years ago and the found her half naked in a bush.
Karen Black was/is the queen of horror flicks. If you do a google search on her and see all the movies she's been in (mostly horrors) you will be amazed. I think she's mostly known for that Trilogy of Terror thing. I often talk to people about it and those that remember have the same reaction. " that movie was so freakin scary"

My first R rated movie was Halloween. Scared the pants off me then. Still does.

I hate that movie for how effective it was at scaring the bejesus out of me.
I saw it for the first (and only) time at a nighttime Halloween party when I was 14. After the party, I had the pleasant experience of walking home, alone. It was the longest mile I've ever run, and probably the fastest.

I remember scaring the poo outta my friend Diane at The Shining. We went to see it with another friend and she was sitting between us scared out of her pants.....she says at one point, "I think I'd DIE if anyone snuck up on me like that."
looks exchanged between other friend and I so I slip out the side of the row like I'm going to the bathroom, stand in the back of the theater for a minute or two and then sneak down behind them and GAHHHHHH!!!!
I truly thought she was never going to stop screaming. We laughed so hard we almost got kicked out.....

Oh, she was pissed at both of us for about a week after that. We still tease her about it once in a while.....
