Posted: 03/06/06 - 02:03 Post subject: Chicken Feet
We had dim sum at a Chinese restaurant with a few church friends after morning service. One of the popular dishes we ordered was chicken feet.
Cooked (Dim sum style):
Raw (As sold in the market):
The only edible parts are the skin and outer batter, the ligaments and tendons. You just suck the things up starting from the claws and spit out the little bones... Tasted ok but I think the dish is a little overrated. I still prefer something with a bit more meat on it...
The feet can be also boiled in soups.

Well, I'd probably never cook it myself, but if somebody offered, I'd probably eat it.

No but you can use the toenails as a toothpick to get those annoying ligaments and tendons out of your teeth.

It's not the kind of thing I'd buy on purpose. That being said.... I can digest anything.

Cooked, the look alright. Raw, they look like piles of dead old ladies.
Or flaccid cacti.

I've had chicken feet at a dim sum resturant, and I agree Tim, there really isn't much too them. Too much other food at dim sum to focus on!
