Actually, its preferable you bring a moped/wagon to carry those of us who didn't get hotels on the same block as the finish line <cough>me |
When I did Chicago, I didn't get a hotel on the same block as the finish line either. Although the walk back to my hotel was wrought with quad pain making every little curb a giant hill, it was also very cool because all the people in the streets, once they looked past the lurching and saw the space blanket and finisher's medal, treated me like a star.

I didn't have much trouble making it back to my car. Neither with the drive home. Actually, I had brought a friend along so he could do the drive home because I wasn't sure I could do the 3 hour drive on my own. He ended up falling asleep before we left Chicago and made me drive all of the way home by myself!!! He woke up as we entered Lafayette and says, "Oh, sorry I must have dozed off."
I loved the race and that's why I'm doing it again. Although this time will not be as fast since I'm pacing a few wimmin friends from Purdue through their first marathon.

For those going to Chicago, are any of you Catholic? I'm going to church Saturday night before the race. If you are interested in going as well, leave a note here, PM me, or E-mail me.
If anybody knows of a good, upbeat Catholic church in the Chicago area, please let me know.

Looks like I'll be manning the water stop at mile 23 (I think), at the Cell (always to be known as Comiskey Park). The running club I'm in is working that table, and asked for volunteers. I'll have to see if there's some way I can make myself identifiable to you all - please keep all smart-ass suggestions for this to a minimum, thank you.

Great you'll be manning the stop! You'll be sure to see me. Just find Kobyj? then wait around for about 3 more hours...
We need to figure out a plan to meet up with any and all who might be up there....

I'll be wearing a Purdue singlet, but there are going to be quite a few (around 10 I think) Purdue Singlets. Do we have any extra RR shirts?
Could we meet up the afternoon before the race? I don't know about after because I have to drive home so I can be to work on Monday.

Thats what I was thinking too, day before and if we don't hate each other (just kidding) we can meet up afterwards if it works out with plans?
