It was a bit chilly out this morning. First race I've ever done in pants. I knew once I got going they were gonna be too hot, but it wasn't too bad.
There were a lot of people there 1500+ Shocked . So saying it was crowded is an understatement. By my watch I got 27:46. I'm in the same ballbark I was in last summer. Hubby blew my doors off. He lost me before the first mile was over with. He stayed out drinking last night and still beat me. He was a real peach to be around too.

After the race they had a big layout of fruit, and burritos. Free beer and margaritas. But we didn't stay cause Keith was cranky. I grabbed a few burritos to go and they were awesome!! Saw a few people I work with there, and last but not least.

Good going Akern! Smoke those St Paddy runnin' neighbors!!
Sounds like the hubby has some potential. You gonna challenge him to a 10km next?
Dang does burritos sound excellent...bagels and gatorade gets pretty boring, sounds like one cool race.

HA! Keith refuses to run a 10k. dunno As for the neighbor... something is fishy. She told me she ran the five mile race in an hour something and I still can't find her name on the results.

Yesterday I seen her at the start of the race, bib number and all, and I can't find her in yesterday's results either. She told me her time was 37:02.

In some races they turn the timer off after a certain point, so she may indeed have finished in that time but "officially" it wasn't recorded. That happened to me once when I was really slow, one of the first races I ever ran was just shy of an hour for 5 miles and the clock had gotten turned off before that even though there were still people on the course, so when I looked up my results, they weren't published. Good thing I had my watch on. I suspect that's what happened with her????

They could have not posted the results after a certain number of people too. Say the first 1000 finishers.

Well they had times in that time frame and over. I wonder if she's using a different name or something? Weird.

Great race, achey! Are you sure your neighbors even ran it?

And I would've sent cranky hubby packing and feasted on the free brews and burritos, yo!!
