With the election approaching quickly we should all check with our local papers or League of Women Voters to confirm polling place location.

Turns out mine changed and I had no indication at all except a MoveOn doorknocker canvassing GOTV efforts mentioned it in passing. My train buddy happened to have the paper today and the places were listed and she was right.

This is especially important for those of us with a zillion other time constraints on that day (job, kids, run, school) who have limited time to get the to polls and cast ballots.

So don't assume. I would have been in a bad way come November 2 if I hadn't had these chance encounters.

I'm going to early vote tomorrow, which here in Harris county you can early vote at any of the early voting locations. Just on the real day do you have to go to your polling location (which I have no clue where it is now that I've moved)

Yeah, and who needs ID? Don't I look like an honest citizen?

Whadya mean I died five years ago? Nobody told me! Wink

I wish we had early voting here.....it would save a lot of hassle on Election Day.

I was lucky enough to be able to see Michael Moore last night and while there I learned that if you have any trouble voting, you should call 1-866-OURVOTE to complain and possibly get the problem rectified.

We have early voting and I’ve always been able to vote a few days ahead of time where I worked. This will be the first time in a while that I’ve voted at the polls, and I’m looking forward to it. The kids get to “vote” at the polls on election day this year, so I’m going to take them and let them do their civic duty. What a great way to instill the importance of voting!

We can vote early here, but only at the County administration building which is very hard to get to during working hours, so I guess I'll just wait until November 2 to vote to throw the bum out - not, that I'm telling anyone whom I'm voting for.

But my polling place has already been verified. Same place since 1986.

No early voting in PA

<snip> Pennsylvania, a state where change comes slowly, does not offer early voting, election experts said. Any movement toward early voting would be met with resistance from the people who count the votes.

''It's difficult enough to conduct an election for a single day in a city of this size,'' said Bob Lee, Philadelphia's voter registration coordinator. ''I can't imagine trying to do it for two weeks and then have a full day of voting.''</snip>

The only way to vote early in PA is by absentee ballot
