Are egg whites in a milk carton cheaper than buying whole eggs and throwing out the yolks?

You throw them OUT??
I either freeze them or put them in Ian's scrambled eggs.

How do you measure out the egg whites? When the recipe says 3 egg whites, is that like 1/4 cup?

Yes, they're high in cholesterol and fat. The whites are mostly protein and water.

I don't. I only throw away the yolks when I'm doing scrambled eggs.

Yes. A lot. Particularly if you buy them at a warehouse club like Sam's, BJ's, or Costco. I myself throw out the yolks.

No, it means 3 egg whites. Simply break the egg and do a transfer from one shell half to the other with the yolk to get all the whites to fall out. Then "close" up the shell and toss. I think you'd need a lot more than 3 whites for 1/4 cup, judging from my typical 4 egg white omelet breakfast.

So you'd just eyeball it then?

I assume on the carton of egg whites it tells you how to measure out 3 egg whites. On the carton of egg beaters one egg is 1/4c of beater. I do egg beater-hubby has high cholesterol.

You people are sick....scrambled eggs MUST be yellow! It's a Federal Law or something....
OK, I do the whites too, but I put one yoke in for color...otherwise I would not be able to fool my brain into opening my mouth...
