Rainy and 58°F, approximately 15,000 runners, Central Park.
3.5 mile in 23:53, splits as follows:
mile one 7:13
Mile two 6:36
Mile three 6:55
mile 3.5 3:08
Pretty happy with time, but first mile took a lot out of me.
[rant] People are idiots. They had a sign for competetive starters (8 min mile or better) and non-competetive starters. I spent the first mile doing fartleks just to get around all the walkers . Third mile was the wave of pukers who thought they were faster than they were and ended up blowing their load and stopping right in front of you [/rant]
Mile two and the last half mile were the only places I could really open up.

I hear that monk that is why I will never do a race for the cure. Too many amateurs also. It sucks for people like us who follow the rules and end up getting punished for it.

Good job, the corporate challenge in Boston is the same way, unless you are truly right up front you will be packed in with folks that are not running at the posted paces.

Serves you right for doing those lower mileage races geared towards the non-runner.
Seriously, excellent job. You're so friggin' fast it scares me.

15,000..Dang! For a short race like this, I can't imagine much worse.
Good going with a nice time and avoiding the puke puddles.
