If you still need a Peachtree Road Race qualifying time, the Charles Harris 10k is March 13, starting at Tucker High School. It is a fast, slightly downhill course, although at the very end there is a small hill to contend with.
The Tucker Days 5k race will be May 8 this year. This is a small, low key, local 5k that benefits the Tucker High School Band. The registration fee is only $15.00 and you get a very nice tee-shirt.
You can get more information on the Charles Harris 10k at www.atlantatrackclub.org under their race calendar section.
To register for the Tucker Days 5k go here: http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1100411

I'm still up in the air about the 10K.
Central Gwinnett HS is also having a 5K on that day, but I may do the Rucker Days 5K instead. How's the course?

I'm out for this Saturday, but may want to do the Tucker race on 5/8/04.

The course is flat EXCEPT for a rather significan hill just after the 1 mile mark. Once you over that hill it's pretty flat.
Hills are always in the eyes of the beholder. I don't consider it that bad, but everyone else talks about it. On the other hand I get the impression that a lot of the participants in the Tucker Days 5k run one once a year.

Tucker Days will work for me if it does not conflict with a soccer match.

I have been thinking about running a marathon lately, but a 5k is a good stepping stone to the marathon. I wonder how bad that one hill would be, I think it would definitely affect a lot of runners to take it on too strong.
