ok, got an ethical dilemma that is based a lot on personal biasness.

My skate club is hosting a small skating event on the Silver Comet trail. this is a fundraiser for the Athens to Atlanta skate race (www.a2a.net yeah shameless plug) one of my patrollers is a very generous guy and wants to cover the $10.00 registration fee that the skate patrol volunteers would pay as registration. this is a 50% discount off the normal registration.

This guy's social life is very much oriented about volunteering for atletic events. I can't say he has a lot of friends as in he's a strange charachter but he has a heart of gold. I can't see how the registration cost's total for the patroller will be more than 100.00, including himself but i'd rather not take advantage of one i feel has already been taken advantage of.

the personal biasness come from the fact that growing up ina poor nieghborhood i really have issues with accepting handouts. granted i am not rich now but i still don't like handouts and i am fiercely independent

Accept the offer and then use the money you would've paid to donate to a cause of your choice, or buy him a small thank you gift.

Accept the offer. You aren't allowing him to receive his blessing by denying his offer. Smile
