I hadn't any idea that Greenspan is on his way out. He's lead the Federal Reserve for almost all of my adult life. I don't know what to expect.

Thoughts on this?

Conventional wisdom is that all high profile gov economists pretty much think alike. All the likely candidates are cookie-cutter Greenspan. Market watchers have been hedging a bit for what might happen on Feb 1st if the replacement comes in week one and puts in a rate hike, similar to what Greenspan did in his first week.
Bottomline market view is it'll be a blip on the radar though and fed policies won't be changing with whoever's face we see.
