Rob - do you find the Stihl bar oil too thick? I finish a tank of gas and still have 2/3 of a tank of bar oil and chain feels kinds dry. I mix a couple spoon fulls of 30 wt motor oil in there and it seems to flow more betterer

I don't buy their bar oil. I buy whatever is on sale at Home Despot. A buddy of mine uses old used motor oil and he's never had a problem - it's a bit too thin I think.

when I bought my saw it was supposed to come with a small container of bar oil - they were out of the small containers so the guy gave me a full gallon container!
