Do you carry your MP3 player on the run? I can’t run if I don’t have my favorite songs with me. Sometimes when I’m down and when it seems too complicated to even get dressed and get out on the street, let alone go for a run, the only thing that can give me motivation is music. But on the other hand, many people think it’s dangerous to run or cycle with earphones on. What do you think about this?

Well, no matter how much I like music, I don’t carry my MP3 player. When I think about it, I carry it only when I’m traveling and I listen to it only when I’m on a plane or in a bus. I think it’s comparatively dangerous to practice any sports activity with earphones in your ears. Sometimes you can’t hear a vehicle approaching or something like that. Besides, I don’t have good balance when all I hear is the music from the player. I need to hear the outside world in order to feel stable. I can’t quite explain it, but it’s as if all my senses have to be alert in order for me to train. I think it’s especially dangerous to carry the MP3 while cycling.
