Participated in a 23 mile relay on Saturday - our 5 man team was composed of only 4 guys because we couldn't round up a 5th in time. First leg was 4 miles, 2nd leg was 4 miles and the team leader ran legs 3 & 4 for a total of 10 miles and then yours truly did the 5th leg of 5 miles.

We had a major clusterflub at the start due to the fact we thought race began at 9 a.m. and it actually started at 8 a.m. Our 2nd leg runner never even arrived until the 1st leg had already begun - therefore he missed the bus to the dropoff point. Since I had to catch a bus to the start of my leg the remaining team member drove him up to his dropoff point and then had to come back and get ready for his turn. And to make things even more fun, neither our 1st or 2nd leg runners had ever even met so they didn't even who they were looking for. Good thing for bib numbers Mr. Green .

Our two 4 milers kept us in it with times of 31 and change and 27 and change. Our 10 miler did a fine job by keeping a 6:40something pace and I completed my 5 miles in 33:49 for a 6:46 pace. We finished 7th overall out of 25 teams and garnered a 2nd place in the mens division (40 minutes behind the winning team Embarassed ). Second place hardware is a good thing Mr. Green .

Yep. Right in town. Near the canoe livery, they've put in a hike and bike trail. It's very nice.
