Speaking of, someone needs to help me out. North Carolina "first in flight" is where the event happened, so whats the "Birthplace of Aviation" Ohio's role in this?

It is funny with all the knowledge and expertise they could not recreate it. It makes their accomplishment that much better.

This is all I could find:
| Quote: | Nearly 100 years ago, Ohio’s Wright Brothers changed the world with the first powered flight. Since then, Ohio has been home to countless aviation inventions, the birthplace of many pioneering aviators, the cradle of aviation industry, and the location of important events in the history of flight.

I do know it's the home of Wright-Patterson AFB, home to one of (if not the) the largest static displays/air museums in the entire AF. And that is saying a lot.

Wright Brothers owned a bicycle shop and lived in Ohio but did their test flight in NC because of the wind there.

Here's another factoid: It didn't really happen in Kitty Hawk. The flight took place on Kill Devil Hill about 4 miles or so outside of Kitty Hawk, which was the nearest town. Several years (or decades) later, the massive dune was stabilized and Kill Devil Hill was incorporated as a township.

Oh, so you want the straight skinny? How fortunate. I live a little more than thirty minutes from that bike shop in the Dayton, Ohio area. Maybe I can help.
Yes, the first powered flight took place in North Caroline, hence, First in Flight. The Wrights didn't really build their aircraft to last for long. They did that first flight there just as was reported by PH. Once they got the hang of it, they came back to southwestern Ohio and really got busy with that flying bidness.
Birthplace of Aviation? Wilbur and Orville were born in Ohio. The first man to orbit the Earth? John Glenn - born in Ohio. The first man to walk on the Moon? Neil Armstrong - born in Ohio. Jim Lovell?...born in Ohio.
And this concludes the history lesson today. Class dismissed.

So people will do just about anything to get out of Ohio?

Seems kinda ironic that with all the sophisticated technology we have today, we can't even recreate a primitive model of an airplane...

Funny thing--Some of the homeopathic medicines that my parents used in Colombia--which were poopoo'd by modern doctors are now making a comeback because they work!
Also, some of the ancient remedies used in the Far East are also gaining popularity and are beginning to be seen seriously by the medical establishment.
