My daughter, who is older than Calvin, but probably just about as mature is learning to cook. She's really working hard on perfecting her chocolate oatmeal cookie recipe.

My best friend (still) and I when we were 8 decided to make breakfast for our moms. It turned out a little better than Calvins. Our motivation was not because they were sick (or at least they weren't before they ate) but it was all a ploy to get our moms to sign us up for dance classes. I don't remember what time of year it was but I do know that oranges were NOT in season, mom let me taste some of her oj and it was about like lemon juice! But we were so proud, we burned toast, scrambled eggs, squeezed (lemons?) for juice and pulled flowers out of my mom's garden for the center piece. Oh and I think it was all ready by about noon....
we did get to take dance classes, we did so for 6 years together
