I'm considering a career change and I'm thinking about sitting for the 9/30/06 LSAT. Any of you Riff Raffers who have taken the LSAT have any thoughts/suggestions OR should I just run and hide from the entire thing?

I took a crash prep course and didn't think much of it. The only thing you really can't study for is the essay so just make up your mind right now it's going to be a 3 pt expository.
Here's my position:
Reason 1
Reason 2
Reason 3
Conclusion
Buy a book, do the questions, don't worry about the timing. Just get familiar with the types of questions and I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck. PM if you have more questions.

I have extensive experience with the legal system, but I've never taken the LSAT.

Serendipity strikes. Just got this in the mail.
A very successful lawyer parked his brand new Lexus in front of the office, ready to show it off to his colleagues. As he got out, a truck came along too close to the curb and completely tore off the driver's door. Fortunately, a cop in a police car was close enough to see the accident and pulled up behind the Lexus, his lights flashing. But, before the cop had a chance to ask any questions! , the lawyer started screaming hysterically about how his Lexus, which he had just picked up the day before, was now completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter how the body shop tried to make it new again.
After the lawyer finally wound down from his rant, the cop shook his head in disgust and disbelief. "I can't believe how materialistic you lawyers are," he said. "You are so focused on your possessions that you neglect the most important things in life."
"How can you say such a thing?" asked the lawyer.
The cop replied, "Don't you even realize that your left arm is missing? It got ripped off when the truck hit you!!!"
"OH, MY GOD!" screamed the lawyer. "MY ROLEX!"

I've seen people with little or no education acquire the same extensive experience.

We could do it on the RF.com and charge admission.

Just because you've been arrested repeatedly for indecent exposure doesn't make you an expert of the "legal system".

Oddly enough, according to current statutes, the blue flowered shirt IS considered indecent exposure...

I don't blame you. What a waste!
I went with the, "Don't slow down enough, hit the brakes, slide on the snow/ice, rear-end the car in front of you" plan. Being 16-years old was beneficial, too.
Wait! Is this off-topic?
