Great day for a run! Met up with elkid, we talked for a bit and got a picture together.
New PR (by 21:10, no less!) Felt really great, ran it in 1:35:10. Last 7 miles was a 3.5 mile loop done twice due to snow on the boardwalk. The loop was kinda hilly (see if you can guess where)
Splits were:
1 7:25
2 6:50
3 7:11
4 7:12
5 7:17
6 7:29
7 7:34
8 7:08
9 7:03
10 7:12
11 7:36
12 7:30
13 6:58
.1 1:01

Thanks. 21 minute pr is the fact. I can't even believe it. I ran the Bronx-half 7/7/2002 in 1:56:41 and the Brooklyn-half 3/8/2003 in 1:35:31
As for training? It has to be the speed work, although the Marathon seemed to really strengthen me. I have only had 4 speed work sessions at the track, and the results have been amazing.
I am now a true believer in the value of speed work.
