Even though I am not running the race, I think it would be cool for the posse crew to get together and meet. I know Joe and EL are running the race. Anyone up for lunch after the race?

I've been PM-ing Joe about this. We were planning on meeting up, either after the race or before/after the expo. RunsLikeaGirl is coming down from Albany to run this, too. Definitely need for all to get together for a photo op! Then I can finish up the disposable camera and develop the photos of me and Monk25 at the Brooklyn half a month ago.

Let me know either way. I am up for lunch, although I would have the kiddies with me. Monk can attest to their good behavior at restaurant's.

If it's in May, Mr. Aire will be home and would like to meet you guys.

We aren't ready for the run, but we're always ready for lunch. We'll have Colin with us, too.

Anyone else??

We don't have to eat in the City. Just a suggestion since the BSR people were already there.

Here's my two cents: RunsLikeAGirl will probably not get in until 1pm on Saturday. I'm then going to pick her up at the airport, and we'll go straight to the expo before returning to Chez elkid in fabulous Northeast Philly. Perhaps we could all meet up for a late lunch or early dinner on Saturday in Manayunk, which isn't too far from Memorial Hall? (We could go to Arroyo - yum!)

I'm not adverse to a post-race lunch, but no doubt we will be smelly and not looking our freshest ....

Dinner or something in Manayunk would be cool. Is Arroyo, kid friendly. Mine will be 7 and 4 by then.

I think so, I remember it's very drunken fool friendly. Razz I think we may have more problems with a bunch of rambunctious runners than your kidlets!

They have an outside deck where most of the older set go on warmer days. Plus the "cool" Manayunk crowd doesn't usually pop in until after 8. Arroyo is num, num, nummy: Tex Mex and plainer fare for the kiddies. Plus it doesn't have the typical Manayunk prices like Kansas City Prime.

EL, Arroyo is a great idea! I am pretty close to Manayunk and go there a lot. Sounds like a winner to me.

BTW, we runners are not vain when it comes to post race lunches, we do it all the time...just bring clean shirts and Handi Wipes Wink Wink You're right though, it'll be a better photo opp if everyone's clean and fresh-scented!!

Shall we say 3:30-4:00 on Saturday?? What's good for everyone--and what time does packet pickup close, y'all have to go Saturday, right??

I'm not vain, but sitting around all smelly and sweaty is just plain gross and kinda rude to non-runners around you. Ewww. After all my treks into NYC this year and being The Smelly Girl on the bus rides home, I'm trying to avoid that condition at all costs. Plus if we meet up on Saturday, I can actually spend time with The Paramedic that weekend - postrace - instead of the whole weekend being sucked up by "Running Things".

I vote for 4pm. That should give us plenty of time to pick up bibs/Ts and perhaps purchase an item or ten at the expo. I propose we meet in front of the Grand Staircase that leads to the restaurant's entrance.

BTW, Capster, free & ample parking at Arroyo. Easy on & off of the Surekill as well.

BTW, do you mean EL as in elkid or EL as in Erstwhile Lurker? I took it as the latter ....

I guess we're just used to it because that's what we always do, but since there's so many of us NOT running this year and getting into the city is such a big fat pain on race day, the Saturday thing works better all around. I actually just got invited to something on Sunday afternoon anyway.

4pm sounds good to me. Are you bringing The Paramedic? That would be cool.....I asked Gogirl to join us but she has guests in town that day.

Pro? Tribob? Airehead? can you guys make it??? (did I forget anyone?)
