I am relatively new to this pro swimming. I used to be good at amateur swimming and pretty fast too. However, this pro competition swimming is somewhat different. I mean there are certain rules you have to follow. You easily are disqualified. I have a breaststroke technique dilemma. Should I keep my body on the surface all the time or not?

Definitely. Keeping your body at the surface is the most important thing about breaststroke. If you drop your hips, your whole body will follow it. You have to bring your knees to your chest with your ankles out. You have to follow your kick around. There should be no splash because you have to keep your legs and arms in the water all the time.
