one word: wow.
this film is just great. you have to see it. you have to have to have to see it.
it's brilliant. that's all there is too it.
Trey Parker, Marilyn Manson, Charleton Heston... all in it (oddly enough the ones protrayed poorly in society are the ones with the most interesting views).
i suppose it won't hurt to list a couple of the biggest questions explored in the film... since it's a documentary, it doesn't really spoil. regardless you need to go see it..
-why does america have more gun related deaths then any other country (11000+ compared to what i believe is less than a thousand combined total for germany, britain, canada, japan, and france).
-why are americans fed fear everyday (that was related to them spending more and keeping the economy turning) in their news..
-somewhat of why americans are so gung-ho with guns...
there's a lot of very interesting parts that i couldn't even begin to tell you about as i wasn't really taking notes during the movie...
a few highlights include, the "sign up for a bank account get a free gun", the columbine cafeteria video footage, a visit to one of the men accused in the oklahoma bombing (who got off), an ambush interview of Charleton Heston (which will greatly lower your respect for the man), and two columbine victims (one barely lived, the other paralyzed for life) showing up at K-Mart HQ to raise awareness that they currently have 19 cent K-Mart bullets INSIDE OF THEM. oh, and a tv newsman "mourning" on camera, and commenting he needs new hairspray as soon as the feed is turned off. heheh and the "Coporate Cops" (version of Cops) where they chase down suits instead of black people.
some other tidbits
-the timing of Clinton's largest bomb assualt on Kosovo, followed one hour later by the Columbine shootings, which promptly removed Clintons Lewinsky scadal and the bombings out of the limelight (which Marilyn Manson would point out).
-the failure of america to take responsibility for its guns, when it chooses to blame entertainment, video games, history, heavy metal, satan, blah blah blah, when every other country is exposed to the same stuff yet doesn't feel the need to shoot each other up..
you gotta go see it. go go go.
