Alrighty! We should all be finishing up with The Two Percent Solution by now, or have finished, or see a finish in the near future. Since I have been nominated to lead this thingy for some silly reason, let's get it started! (hey!)

We can probably work through this book in order (or we can just jump around), but we'll start with with We're Not Serious.

What do you think about the idea that our leaders (and by implication, we) are not serious about solving any of the looming problems facing America? This includes education reform, social security reform, finding a living wage, election reform, and universal health coverage. Miller contends that we are simply not serious about doing anything responsible about these problems because politicians are worried more about re-election and the possible political implications of their actions than they are about doing the job and working with the other party. He says that all we are doing is putting little, ineffective bandaids on a wound that is gushing blood and only fixing to get worse.

And, we're off!

I tried to read it. I really did. I had it two weeks and read the first chapter. He laid out all the problems and part of the solution by the end of the 1st chapter and I didn't see the point in reading the rest.

I'm sorry Pug.

I'm easily amused and that book didn't work.
