I don't know all these songs, but this was a list of requests for the "spring fling" party that was held here last friday night. I found this list on stage this morning when I went over to get ready for a program we're having today.

I'm in Luv with a Stripper

Ms. New Booty

Lean with it Rock with It

My Hips Don't Lie

My Humps

Whistle Song

Temperature

Jump On It

Breaking Free

Jesus Take the Wheel

Milkshake

Dirty Little Secret

Bellydancer

Happy to provide a service to you parents of elementary age kids, just so you know what their musical tastes are!

Shocked I know a lot of them.... These hips don't lie is decent.... has a good beat... and that is a miniscule part of the song.

Jesus Take the Wheel is awesome!

I just don't want them understanding it. Mostly, I think they don't.

That being said.... JR's favorite song is "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix Alot. Embarassed

I'm in love with a stripper Shocked I heard this a lot while in Hawaii. I wouldn't be all that happy if my elementary age child was dancing to that...

Negative

Of course my kids are in Catholic school, so known of the aforementioned songs would likely be played at a school function.

My ten year is listening to the High School Musical soundtrack over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over,

I don't know that any of those songs were actually played at the dance. It does kinda bug me that these kids know these songs. I don't buy the argument that it's ok as long as they don't understand them. I think they understand too much, and the songs make it sound ok to exploit people in sexual ways.

Songs tamer than that were played at the Jr High Grad night last year.

I don't let my son listen to some of those. (Of course, I know he hears them elsewhere)
