I would like to buy a road race bike. I am not sure what to look for. Some of my friends suggest that I should get a full on race bike while the others claim that it is not for me. I am confused and definitely do not know what to do. Any suggestion is welcome.

Many people ask about which road bike they should buy. It is not easy to say at once. It often depends on what you want to do with it. Many people are not really looking for a full on racer. Apart from those who need it for road racing or club riding there are riders who want to use the bike for leisure and exercise. Their best option is not a full on race bike. If you are switching from mountain bike and you are new to road bikes you will have hard time adjusting to the race geometry and aggressive riding position.
