I have noticed something strange. Although it seems odd maybe even ridiculous, I climb steep roads better with my bike than on foot. I know that it defies any reasonable explanation but that is just the way things are. Am I normal or is there something going on with me?

You are normal, don’t worry. There is nothing wrong with you. The problem is when you train hard and long enough you strengthen certain muscles and develop very good neuromuscular coordination. In other words you do some movements or effort easily. On the other hand some other things fall behind. If you have been cycling for a long time it became your preferred way of movement at least when it comes to your leg muscles. So you are not so strong when walking. I suggest you devote some of your time to walking. Two or three times a week of say, half an hour of walking or running will get things back to normal.
