Well you are right about the importance of equipment. Although no equipment in the world is going to win the race instead of you one can do his best and yet fall short of complete victory without the proper gear. So, if the money is not the issue (as I gathered from your question) you should not hesitate to get first class equipment. Coupled with hard and smart trainings, you payoff will be top form and numerous medals.
