Yes, I know, we've had this one many times before, but the damn search feature doesn't work anymore.
Besides, things have changed since you have to pay for the crap now. What's your best site/best deal for downloads? Are the monthly plans the best, and what are the catches, if any? What sites to stay away from?

ive been taking music from cds that i already own and supplimenting my iPod with iTunes.
the songs are .99 each or you can buy whole albums for around 10 bucks. for the most part, its user friendly (especially for a non tech geek like myself). i like it, but it can get pretty expensive quickly if youre like me... and for some artists they dont have much in the way of old stuff. for example tori amos and smashing pumkins...
i heard someone in class talking about lime wire the other day. stbmr used that a while ago, before all the hoopla about downloading music. i think he liked it, but i dont know what the deal with it is now.

and to boot its name tunegenie
I haven't used it, but they boast they have over 700,000 songs
