Interesting tidbit (one of the few things I've learned in my stupid accounting class, btw): Disney loses its copyright on Mickey Mouse on 01/01/04. So look for a Mickey explosion at a Target/WalMart/Talbot's by you.

Yeah I Project Managed our part of the project, I submitted pics in the past. The second part of the project was cancelled which we were going to build items the size of the YoYo's. Shame that the second part was phased out, even though the article says it may come back online.
It was a pretty fun 2.5 years of work.

Fascinating! The book was edited and printed AFTER that date, though. I will take much pleasure in telling prof tonight that he was wrong. Again. Now I can honestly say I've only learned two things in that entire class.

Interesting tidbit-
On the 1970's Disney wanted to put Mood Rings and Smiley Faces on the handrails as decorations. Now these weren't little items. They were 5'-6' diameter Smiley's. In a dispute with the person who copywrited the Smiley Face (who died during the duration of this project) they were told to not use the trademarked item and changed to a platform shoe.
For those who say what about Walmart- well Disney to keep with exact eras, wanted to use the trademarked face. Walmart has adjusted their artwork enough to avoid infringement.
