Hey fellow runners-

At the risk of sounding shallow, I gotta ask: Can anyone suggest a way to burn excess hip weight? I've been running for several years now, and until pretty recently, I've not had any trouble with my weight. Go figure: my passion just happens to burn about 100 calories/hour!

I've noticed a little pad of fat forming on my hips- but I can't figure out why. The only thing I've changed re: my running routine is that I've gone from being a predominantly outdoor runner, to a treadmill runner. (no sidewalks in my new neighborhood) I've added a little core training into my routine as well...I focus on my stomach- oh, and I do a little weight training for the 'ol legs.
I'm confused as to the added weight. I'm running the same distance as I used to, at a faster pace.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate any insight!!

i have had great success with some simple unilateral training especially in Women's Fitness RX. I happenend to pick it up while in the grocery store because it had numerous articles I was interested in including "your best bikini body".
Since I've been doing unilateral training with 8 lb dumb bells (high reps 15-18 and minimal weight) I have been able to tone.

Hope this helps! Oh, the chicks in that magazine are waaaaaaaaaay musclely but this particular workout is not to bulk but to define and tone.
