..okay...my less than kind response in the "when friends aren't friends" thread was uncalled for. I admit. I'd delete it, but it's already been quoted so all I can do is apologize. Embarassed

I'm having a bad mommy day today.

Ian has ADHD, combined type and is on medication during the school week. I don't generally medicate him on the weekend for two reasons, number one it makes him not hungry. Number two..it makes him not sleep so we give him a medication break on weekends and vacations.

Usually, I can hang. Usually I can take all his little behaviors in stride. Not today.

He has been making a diesel truck sound with his mouth since last night. If he's not eating or sleeping that noise is happening. I feel like I'm at a frickin' truck stop or a tractor pull. This is normal for kids like him but it's getting on my nerves, today.

THEN, he goes over to a friends house...and when I go get him he is NOT at his friends house. He wandering the neighborhood with said friend, sans jacket. On his friends bike. Sans helmet. Mad

I probably should have quit while I was ahead, but the whole reason I went to get him was that we needed to shop for his Halloween costume. Every time I turn around, his hands are on something, picking at something, asking for something and then arguing when I tell him no. Mad Sorry. a 30-ought-Six is out of the question. Shocked Popper wheeling the cart. Opening umbrellas in the glassware section. And always that fricking truck noise. Always the truck noise.

At the ATM, I couldn't seem to swipe it correctly, and ian was trying to take apart the counter at the bank. I'm about to blow it big time, when a lady comes along and swipes it. Of course it works the first time and I look like a doofus. And a b*tch to my kid.

Can i can i can can i can I mom mom mom mom mom mom mom can I mom can I can i can I can I mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom. get your mouse off of me

And to top it off...I just peed my pants when I sneezed. I'm too young for Depends... cry

And WTF is up with Boy George with that freaked out makeup job anyway? Shocked

I need a beer.

From one who knows very, very well what you are going through with Ian; some days are good, some days are horrible but in the end it was the cards we were dealt.

FWIW, I didn't take your response as mean in the other thread, I just took it as support for Mecheng that people can be really mean.

I'm sorry about your day. I hope tomorrow is better for you!

Hang in there gal! Things don't get better, you just get numbed to life as a parent of an ADHD kid (well, prozac helps)....mine is 16 and he still makes noises...

Funny thing is....he's at his mom's this weekend and the silence is a tad eerie?

You'll be okay, mom. This job's not for wimps. We want a sweet pink ball that smells like powder, and look what happens! We're thrown in and then we swim.

You'll swim... you're already doing it... they just want you to learn the deep dive now! Vent here whenever you like, and we'll commiserate and lice-check you lots until you feel all pumped up and strong enough to get back in there.

too bad pink love

MW...no one expects you to be perfect but yourself. I've read your stories about life with Ian both here and at the CH. You obviously adore him and have been there every step of the way for him, even when your life seemed to be coming apart.

It's okay to get frustrated and vent. Makes the other days seem that much better!

Morning guys. He's smiling at me this morning so I don't think it traumatized him too much....
