Hi just wanted to introduce myself. I was pretty excited to find this forum, I need to re-educate myself on the world of running.
My wife and I were cross-country runners in high school (14 years ago). We were both pretty good from what I remember  . When we met in 95' we were still in "decent" shape but not the "nothing but lungs and legs" teenagers we had been. So we married in 98' and proceeded to eat and eat and eat and before we knew it....well you get the picture.
So my wife is back to being pretty thin and I have a long way to go. We put ourselves back on a training program (2 days a week resistance, 4 days a week running) and have begun changing our diet. I signed up for our first 5K on Sept 6th.....that's our goal. Just increasing our mileage a little at a time. We are hoping to run the HP Houston Marathon in January 2005.
So that's my long boring and drawn out story. I hope I don't become annoying with too many questions but I sure am happy I found this place.

Welcome! You've come to the right place to ask questions or stumble on questions you had but haven't asked yet. Lots of runners at many different levels. Keeps it interesting.
