Not me, silly bugs. Sandy. Her big passion and interest in life is acting/theatre. She hasn't acted at all since her freshman year of college (about 2 years ago), but works at the Dinner Theatre. She hasn't even auditioned for anything. This past fall she almost auditioned for some community theatre, but backed out just before the audition.

The more that we go see Cats, the more Sandy wants to get back into it all. We talked about it on tuesday night and it sounds like she is going to be taking some dance classes and start to get back in and build her confidence back for auditions.

Well a couple of days ago one of the theatre directors at Chanhassen (where she works) dropped off a bunch of sheet music for one of the songs from Hair to be photocopied. Sandy apparently started singing (probably not knowing the director was still in the office) one of the songs. He then asked why she hadn't auditioned yet. She didn't really have an answer, so he told her to come in on monday and audition.

So, on monday Sandy has her first professional audition for Hair (one of her favorite shows). I am so excited! We went to Proex last night so she could get headshots for her resume, and now she just has to dwell on it until monday!

It would be so cool if she could get a part!

I know exactly what she is going through. I have been a writer all of my life, but only recently vowed to stop dismissing it as garbage and I have had some encouragement to do something with it. I just submitted a short fiction piece to a local magazine last night. It's not much but it's a step anyway.

Nervous Nervous Nervous.

It took me three days after I made the decision to submit, to actually submit.

Oh and I think HAIR and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR both have rockin' scores. Who can stay frowning when singing Good Morning Starshine?

Not even community theatre. Professional theatre in Downtown Minneapolis at the Pantages (or however you spell it)!

Naturally there will be an update on tuesday with her impressions of the audition.

I have been to Chanhassen, and I must say, that place rocks! I can't remember the show we saw there, but it was very good.

Hair?
Ummm...Does she have to get naked?

If she gets the part, quite possibly. She's mentioned that a couple of times that there is a nude scene at the end of the first act. She said that since the show isn't until July she has some time to slim down a little bit so she'd be more comfortable.
