When you want to make mortise and tennon joints in woodworking, you need a machine that cuts square holes:

I want to make boxes, knock down benches and truss tables for reenacting.

I now have all the quipment, and can get into production just as soon as the boy moves his workshop stuff over to his house...

The mortising machine is a BASICALLY a drill bit surrounded by a square chisel.

A mortis and tenon joint is like Ranger posted. The mortis is the piece with the hole in it and the tenon is the piece that's been cut away on all 4 sides.

My dream is to get a planer and one of those biscuit hole drillers. I would then start making gun racks out of old pallet wood.
