The ING Georgia Marathon debuts March 25, 2007 at Underground Atlanta. The course is not yet up on the website, but from the initial news reports will showcase the city well. 15,000 to 18,000 runners are expected for the inaugural event.
I don't think this marathon will replace the Atlanta Marathon on Thanksgiving morning. We'll have to wait and see on that one.

I wouldn't do the Thanksgiving marathon because of poor timing, so I like that this one is opposite that time. I don't see myself traveling for a race on Thanksgiving.

Is the Atlantic coast very warm by the end of March if a guy took the family for a beachy vacation with a marathon this time of year?

They had a booth at the expo for the Shamrock Shuffle here a few months ago. LC thought I should put it on the "at least consider it" list.

For me personally, no. The water is still way too cold. But you will find a lot of Northerners in the waters off the Atlantic in March from Myrtle Beach to Key West. They swear the water is just fine. So, it's possible.

I actually run with the guy that developed the course. It's a great layout and will be an awesome run. I'm hoping that we can get ING to allow a skating division in the near future.

Count me in for this race!!! Started running last week. It's nice to be injury free for once. My last 1/2 in April I popped a calf muscle and hadn't run since.

I was just thinking last night I hadn't seen you on here for awhile. Good luck with your injury. Take it easy coming back.

Yeah got pretty down on running. I had just gotten over PF and trained for the CMM and popped a calf muscle. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger!!!!
