Librarians baffled by urine
Librarians in the US have had to admit they are baffled by the case of the urine-stained library books.
Hundreds of books at two libraries, just 13 miles apart in Cleveland (<<this alone may explain it), have had to be thrown out.
Linda Yanko, manager of Geauga West Library, told the Plain Dealer: "I can't even believe we're discussing something like this. It's appalling and disgusting."
She said librarians had been finding new cases or urine-related vandalism about once a month with the recent case coming just this week.
The problems at Aurora Memorial Library began more than two years ago and damaged books have been found sporadically ever since.
Officials admit they have no idea who is responsible - or even if the incidents are related.

Andy did PM this to me, having knowledge as I do of someone in the library bidness. I told him my hunch would be homeless person(s) - even in an affluent area (and I wish we were), there's two or three that frequent LC's place of work.
But then again, the libraries have bathrooms. Which would make my next guess smart-ass teenagers taking the material into the john, doing the deed, and returning the books to shelves.

My guess is teens.
We had some A$$clown teens put some incendiary devices through the return slot of the library and burned the entire thing to the ground.
Culprits were found to be the angels of the well-to-do.  We lived in a very affluent area.

Well, the yoots around here aren't that bad yet - I think! The worst they do there is: 1) hog the computer/study rooms, and 2) call and ask if the library carrries TV Guide.
