Anyone heard of these?
It's basically similar to duathlons in that you are doing 2 sports but different b/c you swim and run (no bike). I was talking with my tri club coach couple of weeks ago about this and he said they are quite popular in Asia and Australia though there are none held in Canada, though the tri club at my school's organizing a small one (1000m swim, 7-8k run) sometime in April involving other tri clubs in other neighboring universities/colleges in my area. There are many different ways they can be organized: run/swim, swim/run, run/swim/run, swim/run/swim. Are there such races in the US or is this strictly an Asian/Aussie thing?

They seem to be more popular in beach locations. Probably where you have more swimmers.

None down here. Never even heard of it before. Makes sense that they would have it though.
