I just wanted to know how many coolrunners are now over here and why did you switch over?
I hop back and forth. Today, I was reading in Newbie and some people over there are so awful and nasty to anyone who doesn't think like they do. They also called this forum "a bunch of buttslappers". I stated that we were not "a bunch of buttslappers" over here!

hi. my names beth and im a former coolrunner.

there are several reasons why i do not go there any more. there are also several threads about why people are converting...

lets just say that i was tired of the arguing, tired of the stupidity, and mostly tired of people complaining about the poeple who were complaining. and then there was the whole puppet issue that really irked me. luckily, noone was ever that mean to me, but apparently i did start a major political contraversy.

so now i stay here where the peeps are nice and friendly!

RR is The Brady Bunch and CR is The Osbournes.

But every once in a while, if you listen closely you can hear, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!"

buttslapper is a complement - coined by coachmarkos, it's a good thing. We are a bunch of buttslappers "over here".

See the Terms/Phrases guide for Newbies

We even have a smilie for it aka the coach smilie

I thought he meant by saying we are "buttslapper's" that nobody gives "real" advise here and we are a bunch of "cheerleaders" afraid to say anything at all negitive(even if it would be good advise to someone.)
Later, jcumming said he meant a "buttslapper" in a positive way.
I like the Osborne - Brady Bunch analogy. Razz

hi. my name is blue. (the artist formerly known as the blueprodigy).

i too was a coolrunner (even in the Kickster! days).

now i have seen the light. no political diatribe. no bickering. only counterproductive nonsense, and the odd showing of support.

that and i like the color scheme better here.

Mr. Green

but i miss my maven and nrgy Sad

I'm andydp from the CR CH. Just found a new venue, looking up old buddies from the CH.

Hope it stays that way - nice easy and mellow.

Are you sure it was the Newbie Forum that you were in? Wow! If you thought that was harsh...stay out of the Club House. Wink

No really, I never had the opportunity to post much at the CH like I had wanted due to their inability to welcome newbies as they do here. When I did post, they jumped my ass. Why? Who knows? I've never seen too many problems in the Newbie area. And I do check out what's going on at the Multisport Forum over there (their moderator is the best one at CR Wink ).

I'm glad that I'm over here. I've been welcomed, supported and given the time to express myself. Mr. Green

One note: We have some great RRer's who do post at the CH forum. They're great and I'm not knocking them. The chosen few who put me off probably will never post around here. We've had a few CH people join in with us this week...I hope to hear more from them.

Most of us were cool running regulars but made the switch to here in May 2002.

The buttslappers was the name of a VRAA team that won just about the time RF.com started. A lot of the buttslapper members are regulars here. and I was the team captain

i used to post/visit CR. Hey! didn't some brainsurgeon over there fake his own death by cancer once? yeah, i remember now -- he said he was dying and walked us thru his chemo treatments and prognosis and then the big WHAMMY - "I'm not going to make it, goodbye cruel world" thread which evoked all sorts of pitiful and sympathetic responses from CRers who offered their prayers and support at such an unimaginable time in a runner's life. and then---I'M NOT DYING!!! SURPRISE!!!! I FOOLED YA SUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, i remember now why i don't post over there. thanks for reminding me.

Yup, several of us came on over this summer. I'm still there as a role model for the C25K grads (that should show you how hard up they are *snort*), and the occasional sniper action in the CH. Once we have a running log here, that'll take 75% of why I go there.
