My friend's business that we just took over has been using ADP for their payroll processing. Well, ADP is a freakin' arm & leg to use so I'm looking into Quickbooks/Intuit payroll processing. Their fees are uber cheaper than ADP. I figure that's because ADP typically works with big corporations. We are "mom & pop." I was wondering if any of you accounting/HR types have any experience using them and, if so, what advice you can give.
I am also looking into using their merchant account processing, too. We pay way too much for the service we are using there as well.

I use QB and I like it. I get great support from the consultant I purchased it from.
I've also used MYOB and found that pretty good too, but QB has more flexibility with reporting.

I don't really need payroll software. I just need someone to do payroll (and everything associated with those cappy...um...crappy accounting type jobs!)

How many people on the payroll? It ain't that hard if you've only got a few.
I've done ADP payroll with 25-people and it was $40 a payroll. That's cheap in my book

WHAT???????? We only have TWO people on the payroll and it is costing us $350+ sometimes!!!!!!!!!!!! That was why I was changing companies! Maybe they (the owners of this company) set it up wrong or something. Of course, we do have tax services included in our contract with them but that shouldn't be that much more!
