The Golden Rule... If I can learn it, albet a little late, so can Elkid...and you
Could you please define "rest of us"? Wherein 90% of the folks on here are very polite and tollerant, it would appear that "rest of us" is a rather small exclusive club. But then that's just my quick observation, please feel free to disagree.
Have a nice day!
I'm off to Omaha Nebraska to experience negative wind chill numbers. See you all Thursday!

And that's just the point. I've found that if you don't have membership in that "small exclusive club" that actually thought Elkid's nastiness was funny OR acceptable, it seems you're the one who's wrong. It's pretty obvious to anyone who read the majority of her posts or who has had the pleasure of being attacked by her behind the scenes WHY she was banned, and it's even more amusing that it is only a small minority that actually cares enough to piss and moan about it. And to say people don't know how to act around here so as not to be banned, that's pretty pathetic considering we're all educated, intelligent adults.
Now, can we get back to the more important topics at hand: shirtless men and Jello wrestling?

I believe that to be BS G3. There was a lot of disrespect shown in many of her posts. It is possible to disagree with another person without showing total disregard for their opinions or belittling them.

Obviously, it may be hard for some to understand and I can only share my POV, G3. But Elkid may have made snide remarks towards/about me public, but what she took behind the scene in PMs with me wasn't just snide, or rude, it was something I hadn't ever experienced in my many days at CR. I felt demeaned and threatened. I really don't want to talk about her either, anymore.
For the record, I think Elkid had some wonderful qualities, but I felt that sometimes she thought that if she brought me "down a notch" she brought herself up one. I did wonder, too, if it were just my own insecurites. But honestly, I've gotten in skirmishes and spats with many on this forum, and never before did I feel that their main goal was to do this. I felt that others were just trying to get something through my thick head. I wasn't aware of the ban, until this thread. I'm not surprised and I do support the decision 100%. I do wish her well.

Its refreshing to see we're a site focused on running, improving our running and the running community and not hung up on petty gossip, cliques or popularity.

For what it is worth..............
I would have to disagree it is "obvious" why she was banned seeing that some posts are asking why she was banned. Deciding who is right and wrong is a matter of personal opinion and the powers that be on the site obviously felt that she needed to be banned. Personally would perfer all to be allowed to continue to post and for those who disagree with someone's opinion, style of writing, sense of humor, etc. to just move on and/or respond if they want to use energy to do such. Lastly finding humor or joy in the banning of someone, just seems wrong to me.
All I can say is we all better make sure that we don't offend some members on this site or u two will become the banned. An open mind, a thick skin, space for all to co-exist and express their opinions, and a sense of humor will go a long way.

This was what I was trying to say as well H2T. I was not on the receiving end of what took place for elkid to be banned; however there shouldn't be a celebration being taken place publically either. I would tell this to anyone's face.
I've always been taught these two things...
"Two wrongs don't make a right".
"Turn the other cheek".
I've not been perfect on this board either, but I don't lash out or say terrible things to/about anyone unless I'm strongly provoked.
Do you get this?

I was all with you, thinking this was a great post, but then you went and used "u" instead of "you."
