A lot.
I am sick of mess, cramps, irritablity, sobbing during commericals with kids or puppies in them, and the basic inconvenience of it all.
If I had my choice I'd get rid of it all. But then you gotta deal with hormonal issues, right? |
It's not like I enjoy it, but I definitely want it to stick around a while. I'm 31, not even really dating anyone, and want to have children.
Then again I don't get serious PMS, unless we're talking Pre-Marathon Syndrome!

, SGH!!
Yeah, if I wanted more kids it would be different. I actually would like another, but there's no guarantee that it would be a boy, which is the basic reason I'd like another, and I've got a health issue, and I realize that it's a heart & hormone issue rather than a head issue. I know I'm getting too old and my kids are older and I really don't want to start all over with an infant... on the other hand, my heart wants one badly, especially because I didn't have a boy, and when I hold a baby it's difficult. They're so sweet.

Maybe adoption? I might consider this eventually.

I was on Depo for a couple of years and STILL had my friend. I am as regular as clockwork. I got my friend just within a month of Colin being born.
So, don't count on depo provera to get rid of it, although I do recommend it for the get it/forget it aspect. It rocks!!! Side effects were really pleasant/mangeable, too.

OMG! Sign me up. Only 4 times a year sounds great...
I'm trying out "the patch" this month! It's new too and suppose to be better and easier on the system than the pill type of birth control.

I didn't forget you ladies who asked for that article, I am still digging up the bookmark!
What I do recall from reading the article and it's something I saw on the Internet the other day, was this: The full class of B vitamins (including B6, B12, and Folic Acid) are often deficient in patients with depression. Some medications, such as oral contraceptives, deplete these nutrients in the body, making mood swings more common. Supplementation with Vitamin B6 is extremely helpful in the treatment of depression associated with oral contraceptives6 or pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS).
There are several articles referenced on Medline regarding the effect of pyridoxine (VitaminB6) supplementation on depression caused by oral contraceptives, and the connection is truly there. I'll keep digging for the article and post it as soon as I find it.
