how tragic, really.
i'm wondering how no one else saw/heard anything strange around the car? no other cow-workers in the parking lot? i suppose it could happen and i feel very very sorry for her considering her family situation. now she must live with this--i think dying would be easier.

I can only wonder why the father didn't drop the child off at daycare. If he knew how sleep deprived the wife was.
What a very sad story.

I agree! I think if it's a two parent household, the parents share equal moral culpability and responsibility for the child's welfare. I didn't notice if the parents were still living together, but if they are, I say the father is equally at fault. If she was that sleep deprived and out of it, where the hell was he? I wish we knew more of the story...if she's raising these kids by herself with no help, which is what I suspected when I read this, that makes it even more sad....

who is not under stress and sleep deprived?
The question is really what is justice.
Is she guilty yes
As the police, she would be charged and then let the DA make the final decision. Better she be tried and acquited then not charged at all..
We she be charged in RT, yes, would the case ever she a courtroom, most likely yes. From what I know about the court system in this area, she would probably get a greatly reduced sentence and or found not guilty. She does have extenuating consqeuences that would defeat beyond a reasonable doubt. At the most she would get probation.
She has not doubt suffered enough and has to live with it.
I just hope every parent learns a valuable lesson.
