I'm thankful, grateful, and hopeful that my mother lived to see another Thanksgiving. That's all I need.

I am thankful for:

My loving husband
My caring friends
My health
New friendships that I have made
My great job and co-workers
My great sisters/BIL/nephew (and resiting the temptation to kill other family members not mentioned)

LOL I forgot about that one! Me too!

I am thankful for:

- my wonderful friends, regardless of how far away they are
- my mom's crack team of doctors who finally figured out what's wrong with her and can now work to fix it
- my former boss, who has done much to smooth the transition pathway with the new one
- a good education which will eventually allow me to get out of here forevah
- relatively good health most of the time and the strength to deal with relapses when they happen
- my neighbors, who are a great group that really look out for each other

My wonderful husband, and our life together

A new job.

Good friends.

A few months of living rent-free and being able to get ahead a bit thanks to the psycho-drugwhore landlady/noshow weddding photographer.

I wondered what happened with that situation. Nice to see you got some free rent.

Oh, it was not easy. First she agreed to it, then called up and changed her mind. then told us that she wrote letters to the Regis/Montel/Oprah shows explaining what she had done and how she'd like to see us get married on TV.

Then she and L got into a screaming match (and he is NOT a screamer, believe me) and apparently her meds got adjusted. Now, she is sticking with our original agreement. At least until the next time she takes too many drugs and gets drunk on top of it. Honestly, she is going to kill herself one of these days. Do you want to know the really frightening part of this equation? She is caring for her Alzheimer's-stricken mother. That's just wrong.

~ The children (who are not all healthy, btw. Libby does have strep, so she and Jake got a shot of penicillin, Will gets oral antibiotics since he was at school during the doc visit; boys are being treated because they will likely catch it. Jake wasn't looking too good either. He looked more sick than Lib did.)

~ Great support network of family and friends, both online and IRL. I've been so fortunate to be surrounded by people who think I am strong and brave, (though I feel like neither most times), and who have made me believe that I deserve more than he ever gave me.

~ Living near school. I never could have done this class in Charlotte. I am totally loving this college thing.

~ Living on our own. It's not stress-free and we still have our fair share of chaos, but doing it on my terms is so nice.
