We watched it the other night (came in about 20 minutes into it), and the ending had hubby and I both asking, WTF. It's just today that I realized it's a 2-parter. Embarassed I will watch the 2nd part on Sunday. Ithought it was good, but I wonder if missing the first bit made it harder to understand, as some of the time I felt lost...

It's about a 2 people who have AIDS, and deals with their disease, their relationships and the relationships of those with which they have relationships. It truly is an excellent movie, but like I said, I felt a bit lost at times. I'd like to rent it (when it becomes available) and watch both parts in one evening.

I watched part I Sunday night. It seemed a bit stagy sometimes (duh, it was a play!) but some of the actors were able to transcend that and speak their lines (soliloquies, actually) like real people. I really liked the characters played by Mary-Louise Parker and that fella who played her husband. And Al Pacino just rocks as Roy Cohn. I'm looking forward to parts of part II.

I'm going to tape it in its entirety, and then watch it all at once. It's very difficult for me to watch AIDS-related stuff for personal reasons, but this looks too good to miss. Mary-Louise Parker is a phenomenal actress who has yet to receive the credit and accolades she deserves, and Pacino - well, he's PACINO. 'Nuff said.

For those of you who missed it, it will be on again:
Part I - (HBO2) Dec. 8 (9PM/8C) and Dec. 13 (9PM/8C)

Part II - Sunday, December 14 - 8PM/7C (HBO2) Dec. 15 (9PM/8C) and Dec. 20 (9PM/8C)
Parts I & II
HBO Signature will play the entire six chapters of ANGELS IN AMERICA in order January 3, beginning at 6:00 p.m. In addition, HBO Signature will play one chapter every Sunday night (9:30 p.m.), beginning January 4.

Individual Hours
Hour 1 - Dec. 8 (8PM/7C), Dec. 11 (10PM/9C) and Dec. 22 (11PM/10C)
Hour 2 - Dec. 9 (8PM/7C), Dec. 12 (10PM/9C) and Dec. 22 (12:10AM)
Hour 3 - Dec. 10 (8PM/7C), Dec. 13 (10PM/9C) and Dec. 23 (11PM/10C)
Hour 4 - Dec. 15 (8PM/7C), Dec. 18 (10PM/9C) and Dec. 29 (11PM/10C)
Hour 5 - Dec. 16 (8PM/9C), Dec. 19 (10PM/9C) and Dec. 29 (midnight)
Hour 6 - Dec. 17 (8PM/7C), Dec. 20 (10PM/9C) and Dec. 30 (11PM/10C)

should be noted that Angels in America is directed by Mike Nichols...he did a couple obscure movies in the past like the Graduate, Silkworm, Working Girl and Regarding Henry... dunno

Also, Jeffrey Wright's role is killa! (both of them)

I mean, talk about playing two opposite characters!
